JOB SUMMARY
The Web Developer creates software solutions for Ecommerce websites that engage users and meet business requirements, support web administrators, and designers through the full development lifecycle and contributes to the development of new site features. A Web Developer at APISource will develop, implement, and debug software code using the Magento PHP Framework. Additionally, the position requires knowledge of web technologies and tools such as CSS, JavaScript, HTML, and MySQL.
This position will be in the Marketing/Creative/Web Department and will work collaboratively across the company to help ensure efficiencies, system updates and stability in online assets/content for the Company and Company Clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Development duties including, but not limited to:
1. Updating and creating new code base on specifications provided
2. Running (and ultimately creating) reports out of Magento systems
3. Completing level 2 tech support inquiries from customer service
4. Managing and understanding error logs to determine where problems exist and troubleshoot how to fix
5. Maintain code management
6. Other tasks as assigned around systems updates, website maintenance, and overall web mastering
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
1. Proficient in PHP and MySQL
2. Proficient in Javascript/JQuery
3. Working knowledge of SSH and Command Line Interface
4. Working knowledge of Git or other repository technologies
5. Working knowledge of HTML/CSS
6. Understanding of the functioning of server technology along with market place security concepts.
7. Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
8. Ability to work independently on projects and also collaborate as a strong team member.
9. Ability to communicate with internal teammates, clients and external clients.
HELPFUL SKILLS
1. Good eye for design and aesthetics and an ability to identify if everything “looks right” on the front end of our websites.
2. Understanding of Magento Commerce
3. Understanding of Composer 2
4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
5. Adobe Creative Suite including ability to convert flat files to HTML/CSS (or similar experience with tools such as Figma)
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Degree in Web Development or related field (or related work experience/certifications)
2. Minimum 2 years of Web Development
3. Experience in remote work
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not require supervisory responsibilities at this time.
