The typical hours for this position are Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing day-to-day tasks in the human resources department. Specific areas of responsibility include providing support in the areas of compensation and benefits administration, leave of absence tracking and coordination, credentialing and privileging, file and record management, job description maintenance, legal compliance and reporting, disability coordination, and workers’ compensation case coordination under the direction and supervision of the Director of Human Resources.
JOB DUTIES:
Consult with supervisors on starting pay rates for new employees. Provides new employees with benefit information, determining their eligibility for coverage, and conducting the enrollment process to appropriate benefit programs. Provides benefit change information as significant life changes occur or during exit interviews with employees who are leaving employment and terminating benefits as required. Assists in the facilitation of annual benefits open enrollment process and processing benefit changes with vendors. Acts as an intermediary with benefit vendor representatives and employees when employees are unable to resolve claims issues with vendors. Completes required COBRA and HIPAA documentation. Responds to benefits questions for staff members with consistently accurate information. Tracks Affordable Care Act (ACA) hours for variable staff and reports monthly to ensure compliance.
Handles FMLA paperwork notification and tracking. Ensures FMLA hours are tracking in human resources software. Assists staff with ensuring paperwork or required documentation is received. Provides required notification of approved time.
Handles and coordinates short-term and long-term disability claims. Works with vendor and staff to ensure required paperwork is files. Explain benefits to staff and troubleshoots any issues that arise.
Responsible for the administrative C&P for the agency. Prepares documents for monthly meetings. Take meeting minutes and updates all systems required for C&P Decisions made. Ensures licenses and certifications are active. Communicates internally with required parties to inform of any C&P information.
