Assists the Director of Human Resources with day-to-day administrative functions. Manages the administrative functions of new hires, background checks and drug testing process. Manages the unemployment claims process with vendor. Completes mandatory government surveys.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Drafts offer letters for new hires and emails to the new hire.
Determines and communicates the appropriate locations for drug screens/physicals.
Submits background checks/MVRs and monitors all incoming drug screen results.
Keeps hiring managers informed of new hire status.
Collects all new hire paperwork.
Manages I-9 process; verifies forms are complete, signed, and copies of appropriate supporting documentation are provided.
Processes unemployment claims by ensuring all paperwork is submitted and manager is prepared for any hearings with documentation.
Completes and submits required government surveys by running appropriate reports and gathering information from various sources.
Prepares various weekly and monthly reports for upper management, as required.
Ensures any on-going required paperwork is completed.
Handles general employee inquiries.
Maintains employees’ electronic personnel files.
Ensures confidential information is protected.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or related field required or 1-2 years HR experience
Strong customer service orientation
Ability to work independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong listening skills
Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
