****Candidates will travel 10% south of Tacoma
looking for an experienced OSP Designer to assist with Right of way, WSDOT, DNR and Railroad permitting. OSP Engineering may also be providing assistance to the OSP
Engineering team for the purposes of final design and engineering. This to include aerial
and underground design and then design to the home from distribution points along backbone route. Primarily work will be located in Lewis County, with some potential for requests for availability to travel to a couple additional counties on the West side of the state.
The 3 primary routes of work include:
Project files / Design Notes: To familiarize the consultant with the project, 3 separate kmz files are provided with this project. The design shown on kmz files shows the proposed area with the distinction between aerial and underground and an overview map.
A. Scope of Work – Supply an OSP experienced Permitting professional / Design engineer to be available to support Engineering projects generally outlined above between the dates of March 13th, 2023, through June 16th, 2023
The Engineer shall be available 5 days a week, typically from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PST. Time will be allowed to travel between sites to facilitate workload. The bulk of the work will be in the Lewis County area but may require short trips to other areas around the westside of the state. Engineer can expect weekly project meeting where staff and project managers will outline the work requirements for the upcoming week, upon completion of assignment meeting, engineer would work under the supervision of an assigned Sr. OSP Engineer to perform the tasks as outlined for the project week. The work is expected to be a mixture of on-site field survey and in-office, applications and GIS administration and design drafting.
B. General Duties – Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
o Obtain required field informationo Fill out applicationso Provide prints for applicationso WSDOT Permitting/franchise process§ Coordination with WSDOT to determine their requirements.§ Ordering and marking up of WSDOT ROW plans to depict project routing.§ Utilities Facilities Description (UFD) spreadsheet execution.
The engineer must have the ability to travel to Lewis County in an efficient manner to reduce travel time and expense. Ability to work remote and stay on site at time over the course of the week. Must have a valid driver’s license and able to supply own transportation suitable to this kind of engineering work in the rural areas of Lewis County.
