Overview
This is great opportunity for a hands-on Electrical Engineer to use their knowledge and skills to support the development of a complex Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) test bed. This is a very flexible position where you will have a great opportunity to broaden your skill set, while tackling very unique and challenging engineering problems. Very rarely will you have two months, or even weeks, in a row that are the same.
In this position, you will design, build and test prototype electrical interfaces (eg data acquisition, power distribution, electronic filters, control boxes, etc.) to integrate hardware into the laboratory test bed. You will read through electrical schematics, interface control documents, product manuals, etc. in order to understand system operation and to perform hardware integration tasks.
You will participate in test planning, system integration, and test activities as well as troubleshoot and debug the test bed hardware and software.

Ideal Candidate Skillset
The most important qualities for a candidate are an ability to quickly and eagerly learn new subjects, a willingness to work as part of a small team, and the discipline to complete work with minimal supervision. Some ability for self-direction of work is expected. The ideal candidate will also satisfy as many as possible of the following desires:
” Profiency with Xilinx FPGAs, and Vivado
” Profiecincy writing VHDL or Verilog code
” Experience with Embedded system development
” Be familiar with low level communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe
” Be able to perform electrical hardware design and integration with little supervision
” Have a strong foundation and hands-on experience in electrical engineering
” Be able to design analog and digital circuitry (filters, buffers, etc )
” Be able to read and understand electrical schematics
” Be able to design an electrical interface to a test system using test system schematics, ICDs and other technical documentation
” Be able to identify and recognize common circuit topologies
” Have experience with PCB layout tools, and have experience performing PCB designs and layouts
” Have advanced skills using schematic capture/electrical simulation software experience (eg SPICE)
” At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
In addition, attractive candidates will have:
” Active Secret clearance
” Have a strong mechanical aptitude and be comfortable with the use of standard laboratory equipment (eg oscilloscope, multi-meters, power supplies, soldering irons, power tools, etc.)
” Experience with data acquisition systems
” Be able to develop software in a Linux environment
” Be able to program in C/C++
” Knowledge of aircraft survivability equipment (ASE)
” An advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
” Minimum of 3 years related experience
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance, which must be applied for and granted as a condition of continued employment. Some requirements for a Security Clearance include (but are not limited to) sole US Citizenship, no recent convictions for any type of illegal substance abuse or distribution, and an absence of any felony convictions or criminal record.
