Texas Health Resources seeks to hire a Director Strategic Communications for Texas Health Foundation.
This position will implement communications and fundraising strategies that connect internal and external constituencies with the Foundation’s mission. Plan and oversee execution of Foundation communications. Ensure coherent messaging and communications platforms. Understand the need of philanthropic support and its impact, serving and advancing the needs of individuals in our communities.
Location: Arlington, TX
Core Hours
Articulate the Foundation’s vision and image across all media to ensure a consistent, positive brand and clear, meaningful messages, which align with the Foundation’s strategic plan and priorities.
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop a practical and strategic marketing/communications plan to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
Develop relevant messaging themes and create tailored speeches and remarks for the Foundation’s Executive Team, reflecting the “voice of the leader” and understanding the strengths and opportunities around message delivery.
Develop innovative programs and approaches for sharing messaging platform and fundraising impact. Serve as the Foundation liaison for Texas Health brand experience, consumer strategy, and digital experience.
Ensure adherence to Texas Health’s brand and visual identity parameters.
Interact with various constituent segments including donors, physicians, hospital leadership, and program directors.
Develop, research, and publish persuasive and comprehensive collateral to support new and ongoing fundraising initiatives.
Engage persuasive writing skills to communicate the “ask” effectively and show the impact of gifts in a way that resonates with donors.
Integrate, plan and oversee all design, execution, management, and production of print and digital communications for the Foundation.
Manage budget, timeline, content, and design of internal/external publications and electronic communications, including magazine, newsletters, emails, website, and social media.
Manage relationships with DFW-area media, including the writing of press releases and the support of press needs for events, announcements, and celebrations.
Supervise Communications staff.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree required
Experience
5 years communications leadership with solid writing and editing experience required
Skills
Ability to work in a dynamic deadline-driven environment. Ability to lead and manage communications team, developing and encouraging others to excel. Ability to effectively and comfortably communicate with Foundation leadership. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must possess a high level of attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills. Work collaboratively with leadership and colleagues and also work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to maintain effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment. Identify and drive organizational changes needed to adapt to changing market demands
Travel Requirements
Local travel to hospital entities, headquarters in Arlington, event locations and donor’s homes/offices.
