: The Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) Office of Health Equity and Community Advancement Health Equity Data Analyst is experienced in working with healthcare data. Primary functions of this role include analyzing patient, community and population health data, synthesizing data from internal and external resources, oversight for race, ethnicity and language data collection analysis and other patient demographic data, delivering summarized data for reports and presentations, contributing to leadership meetings, supporting strategic planning activities, grant applications and program evaluation and community impact measurement. The incumbent must have independent problem solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment across YNHHS departments.

EDUCATION
Bachelor?s degree or higher in computer science, business, economics, mathematics, statistics, public policy, public health, biostatistics, or other related fields. Formal training in health services research methods is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
2+ years? experience and relevant competencies in statistical analysis of health outcomes research data, computer science, operations research, statistics or other relevant field. 2+ years of SAS or SQL programming experience working with complex datasets. 1+ years? experience with Python and R. 1+ years? experience with Tableau and Power BI. Familiarity with EMR systems.

Statistics and SAS programming skills. Ability to work in large data sets from multiple data sources. Ability to create a wide variety of output, reports, and delivery files. A working knowledge of database principles, processes, technologies and tools. Ability and experience to perform data analysis and statistical analysis (e.g., ANOVA, regression analysis, propensity-score matched cohort analysis) with an emphasis on data conversion. Comfortable with data validation, processing, and maintenance tasks. Ability to synthesize and summarize large amounts of information and to focus quickly on the essence of an issue. Working knowledge of computer software to support research project(s). Well-developed oral and written communication, statistical, organizational, and analytical skills that including the ability to bring applied knowledge to analytic questions. Ability to work in a matrixed environment. Possesses a strong social justice perspective and demonstrated understanding of health equity and the structural drivers of health that impact marginalized communities.
