Amber Charter Schools provide our students with an academically rigorous and well-rounded education, along with strong character development, enabling them to prosper in their future endeavors.By 2025, the ACS network will serve over 2000 students across three NYC neighborhoods.Amber Charter School East Harlem was founded in 2000 as the first Latino-led charter school in New York State. It currently serves 500 K-5 students.Amber Charter School Kingsbridge opened in 2016 and serves 466 K-5 students, and will grow to serve 840 K-8.Amber Charter School Inwood will open with 200 K-1 students in 2021, and grow to serve 923 K-8 students.Position Overview:The Amber Charter Schools network is currently undergoing an expansion process that aims to enrich the lives of both students and the community at-large. In order to realize this goal, the organization must have a robust School Services Team [SST] to ensure a strong focus on sustainable and scalable programming, resources and tools that meet the needs of students, parents and community stakeholders, and partnerships that are closely linked to strong student outcomes.The Network Operations Associate will hold a critical position within and closely coordinate and collaborate with other colleagues on the School Services Team as well as school-based team members.The Network Operations Associate (NOA) serves as a key member of the Finance and Administration/Operations Team, acting as a thought partner on behalf of the network and its diverse stakeholders, as well as presenting ideas, weighing in on problems and solutions, and engaging as a truly collaborative team player.The NOA significantly contributes to the development and codification of necessary operations systems across the ACS network, boosting existing school and network impact as ACS expands to serve almost 2000 students by 2024.Duties and Responsibilities:Contribute to the Development of Effective Operational SystemsSupport the long-term vision for effective network-wide operational practices, in partnership with the Network Director of Operations and the Chief Finance and Administration Officer.Support the operational growth with a focus on efficient protocols and logistics by tracking and monitoring.Ensure that the schools capture and use operational data and meet internal and external goals and deadlines.Spearhead initiatives at the network-level to support the enhancements of systems that will increase the quality of service delivery to all ACS schoolsServe as an on-call resource for the NDO in all functional areas, providing direct support or redirecting to the appropriate network or operations staff member as required.Contribute to designing professional development for the operations teams.Prepare operations reports for various stakeholders.Consistently practice effective and efficient operational systems to best support teaching and learning.Support student recruitment and enrollment efforts, including open houses, annual lottery, waitlist, orientation and registration.Ensure compliance with the federal school meals program, including vendor management, creating professional development and auditing the schools.Assist with data collection and verification for federal, state, city and authorizer compliance reports and grant applications.Contribute to the Evolution of Common and Responsive Operational Systems, Protocols and ProceduresEnsure the highest standard of health and safety for students and staff across our network.Ensure network-wide compliance with all health and safety laws and regulations (e.G. child nutrition).Support school operational practices and support the development and enhancement of operational systems.Support operations teams in implementing summer work plans to ensure that operational systems are fully in place for a strong school launch.Support and monitor internal operational policies and procedures.Support with network wide implementation and compliance of COVID procedures.Support the communication to all necessary stakeholders of operations requirements and updates.The Network Operations Associate may also assume other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Network Director of Operations.Reports to the Network Director of Operations.In the event that some portion of the 2021-22 school year requires a temporary shift to remote learning and working, the NOA may be asked to work partially or fully remotely.We are seeking candidates with the following experience, competencies and assets:Experience:Minimum of 1 year as a top-performing operations team member, preferably in an urban charter school.Minimum of 2 years of experience managing a meals program through child nutrition.Staff professional development, consulting and coaching experience.Familiarity utilizing and managing student information systems (e.G.
