Description
GitHub is looking for an Intelligence Analyst to assist in protecting GitHub personnel, facilities, and operations from human and natural threats. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Intelligence and Protective Services.
If you have a demonstrated record in open source research, strong written and verbal communication skills, and are comfortable working on multiple projects to solve complex security problems, we want to hear from you!
About the Role
The goal of the Intelligence and Protective Services team is to provide accurate, relevant, insightful, and timely analysis in support of executive protection, physical security operations, crisis management, business operations, and enterprise risk. The scope of the work is global and ranges from investigations of local incidents that may impact one employee to geopolitical risks that involve the entire company.
That is accomplished, in part, through our travel security, facility and incident management systems and crisis management protocols as well as developing strategic partnerships with private and public sector entities and independent research and analysis to be delivered to a range of audiences throughout the company.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in a portfolio of threat profiles, activity, and trends that threaten GitHub, its employees, and members from all available sources (open source, Agency feeds, commercial feeds, and dark web).
- Be highly proficient in Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) methodologies
Provide actionable information by compiling, analyzing and disseminating, concise analysis and warning products in written and presentation form to key internal stakeholders. - Provide analytic support to the GitHub teams at all levels on security-related issues.
Create analytic products to provide senior leadership with warnings about future geostrategic threats to GitHub operations. - Provide intelligence support and assistance to Crisis Management, Physical Security, Event Security, Threat and Risk Management and other functions as required.
- Conduct risk assessments for special events and executive travel.
- Build strategic relationships with government and private sector entities to support the GitHub mission.
- Provide investigative support and expertise for matters requiring focused attention
- Perform data analysis to support risk assessments and threat identification.
- Monitor and report on risk to our leadership team and employees
Qualifications:
- MA/MS or equivalent work experience
- Strong Open Source Intelligence tools and methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work and resource deployment
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office and G Suite
Preferred experience:
- International experience or experience working for a global organization
- Written and spoken fluency in a language additional to English
