BASIC FUNCTION

Oversees the human resource functions of the P.I. Polk County operations. This includes, but is not limited to: recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding. Also included are HR tasks related to employee benefits and performance management. Assists Director of HR and management team labor relations issues.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES – HUMAN RESOURCES:

• Recruit, interview, screen and perform background checks.
• Participate in career fairs & partner with colleges for recruitment.
• Process new employee information.
• Maintain and audit agency personnel files and monitor corrections.
• Assist with investigations, disciplinary action and terminations.
• Assist employees with FMLA, Short-term Disability claims and COBRA forms.
• Attend and participate in team meetings.
• Assist with health, dental, vision, life insurance enrollment.
• Assist employees with paperwork to enroll in the 403(b) plan.
• Manage all aspects of New Employee Orientation, including the schedule, instructors, materials, equipment, rooms and resources.
• Order and keep inventory of all supplies (office, bathroom, kitchen, snacks).
• Perform office manager tasks, including being at the office Mon-Thursday from 8am-4:30pm, and Friday 8am-12pm. Handing out and mailing paychecks on pay-day Fridays. Handling in-coming and out-going mail. Managing sub-contractor relationships, including janitorial services.
• Must be able to establish good working relationships, have exceptional customer service, maintain high level of confidentiality, be highly organized, and have adequate computer skills to complete job duties.b duties.
