Osmose is recruiting for a Manager – Engineering to be based from our Atlanta-Midtown office. The Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and management of engineering services provided to the electric utility and telecommunications industry. The candidate will oversee engineering supervisors and their teams to ensure their work exceeds our customers’ expectations and meets the goals and targets set forth by the executive leadership team. Ideal candidate must have proven management and leadership skills and a strong understanding of make ready engineering, pole loading analysis, distribution design, and NESC guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development and growth of the team to meet company goals.
• Provide effective coaching and technical guidance to the team.
• Plan and coordinate work assigned to engineering supervisors.
• Provide direction to engineering supervisors and ensure work is completed within cost and schedule commitments.
• Hire and develop talent in the organization to ensure a strong bench of upwardly mobile employees to support growth plans
• Communicate status of all projects and related activities to management.
• Maintain and assist in allocating personnel to projects.
• Assist with schedules development, project workflows, and manpower planning. Interface with development groups regarding tool and feature requirements to improve efficiencies.
• Participate in customer meetings and provide insight to technical solutions that meet their needs
• Work with other departments (project management, business development) to achieve project success
• Providing training and mentoring as needed
• Assist with the development of new technologies and process improvements
• Coordinate with training manager regarding department needs, areas of improvement, and development requirements.
• Responsible for maintaining and executing work quality planning.
• Coordinate with field operations regarding project requirements, collection needs, and workflows
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required. Engineering or technical degree preferred or other degree with related industry experience considered.
• 5+ years of industry related experience required
• 2+ years of supervisor/management experience required
• 2+ years of related technical experience required
• Professional Engineering license preferred
• Broad knowledge of electrical distribution systems and telecommunications plant.
• Broad knowledge of construction standards and distribution pole design including NESC clearances and standards.
• Knowledge of RUS electric assembly units.
• Excellent communication skills; both written and oral.
• Present a professional appearance and attitude.
• Demonstrate high work standards with a quality orientation.
• Willingness to travel overnight and work additional or varied hours in the office or in the field when necessary to achieve desired results.
