A is recruiting a Director of Finance to join a reputable team to oversee the establishment, coordination, and administration of all financial systems for the organization. The Director of Finance will be detail-oriented, can work independently and collaboratively, and is able to work with and lead a small accounting team.
Hours are Monday – Friday and they offer a hybrid work model. Starting salary is $90,000 – $110,000/year plus a full benefits package.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee all financial operations of the agency
• Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions
• Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures (including Fiscal Policies and Cost Allocation Plan)
• Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions
• Develop and monitor annual agency and departmental operating budgets as well as individual contract budgets in conjunction with the Executive Director
• Responsible for agency receipts and expenditures adhering to standards and principles set forth under The Allowable Cost Policy Manual and GAAP
• Monitor all cash and investment accounts and ensure secure measures are in place to protect the agency assets including Positive Pay
• Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting, including maintaining an adequate operating reserve
• Responsible for contract & grant management regarding audit and financial reporting requirements.
• Ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to, and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements
• Prepare, analyze, and clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for federal and state funders, other funders, foundations, and their board of directors
• Oversee and execute all tax filing and governmental reporting processes to ensure the timely and accurate provision of information in adherence to legal statutes and regulations

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited educational institution required
• CPA preferred
• 5+ years applicable accounting experience required
• Supervisory experience required
• Experience in nonprofit accounting and grants preferred
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate concerns in a concise and timely manner
• High degree conscientiousness concerning the timely completion of assignments
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel required.
• Education or experience with computerized accounting systems, preferably MIP Fund Accounting preferred
• Knowledge of preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets, and managing investments required
• Understand Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and payroll processing, including payroll tax requirements required
• Ability and flexibility to deal with pressure and deadlines required
• Strong organizational, and problem-solving skills required
• Ability to analyze/solve problems, multitask and work in a fast-paced environment required
• Positive attitude, and ability to communicate effectively to team members required
