Primary Purpose of Job
Administers employee benefit plans for the company. Provides assistance in the analysis, design and development of employee benefit programs. Participates in company wide human resource communication programs.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field of study preferred OR the equivalent in experience or other training.
A minimum of 3 years Human Resources experience with knowledge of retirement plan designs, health and welfare plan administration with OSHA, HIPAA, FMLA, PFL, STD, COBRA, ERISA and other state and federal regulations.
Knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems and processes.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Ability
Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills required.
Essential Functions
Administer timely, accurate and effective PFL, FMLA, COBRA, and Short-Term Disability programs. Recommend policy and procedure changes to ensure regulatory compliance and organizational efficiency.
Administer Workers Compensation program. Compile quarterly reports of incidents/accidents and required annual OSHA reporting.
Provide assistance to employees with questions regarding benefit programs and interact with the insurance carrier to resolve problems when necessary.
Responsible for communications to employees regarding change of employment status as it relates to benefits.
Develop a cooperative partnership with Payroll and other field management to facilitate date sensitive reporting for workers’ compensation, LTD, STD, insurance enrollments, NY Sick Time, COVID Pay and other related payroll/benefit changes.
Maintain data of leave related benefit information in HRIS system.
Participate in new employee orientation for the dissemination of information regarding our health and welfare plans, and other benefits including our 401K plan, Long term disability, vacation, sick time and other employee benefits offered by the agency.
Review and process monthly invoices for health and welfare plans.
Assist with the administration of 401(k) and 403(b) plan eligibility, enrollments, changes, loans, distributions and communications.
Involvement in the annual open enrollment for employees including review of current plan design and making recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
Administer Tuition Reimbursement program.
Provide overall assistance to the Human Resources Management Team as assigned.
Oversee ACLD’s return to work program.
Non-Essential Functions
Provide oral presentations for staff or management on benefit topics.
Participate in benefits and HRIS-related projects, as assigned.
Participate on Safety Committee and other committees as assigned.
