SUMMARY

The Benefits Manager is responsible for business-as-usual oversight, standardizing and improving efficiencies to position the benefits function for the future, and to review the Agency benefit plans and make recommendations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of the Benefits Manager will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Retirement administration – censuses, data uploads, 5500s RMDs
• HRIS
  • Systems/data oversight
  • Improve systems and data for future success
  • UltiPro (UKG) maintenance
  • UKG updates for renewal, etc.
  • Data flow UltiPro (UKG) to providers
• Annual benefit statements
• Benefit review and improvement recommendations to director
• Conducting open enrollment, benefit orientation and intro to HR at new hire orientation sessions
• Benefits overall process improvement
• ACA administration
• Audit – retirement plans, ACA, FSA, enrollments, data entry/integrity
• Offer guidance and assistance to employees
• Subject matter expert re benefits and LOAs – as relates to federal, state and local laws, and company policies and collective bargaining agreements
• Backup for coordinator and director
• Perform other benefit/HR projects/responsibilities as needed/assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Good interpersonal skills are required in order to interact effectively with employees, coworkers, other departments, outside contacts, etc.
• Proficiency in the use of a personal computer. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and E-Mail
• Prior knowledge of UKG and ADP Workforce Now is required
• Due to sensitive nature of the position, must be able to maintain the strictest confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
• Good organizational skills
• Good oral and written communications skills
• Good presentation skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
• Eight to ten years Benefits and/or Human Resources experience
