Job Description
AECOM has an immediate need for a Human Resources (HR) Specialist to become part of the Corporate Human Resources team. In this role, you will help support HR leaders and team members with day-to-day responsibilities to ensure effective and efficient partnering with assigned client groups. The HR Specialist is expected to have excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
To be successful in the role, the HR Specialist should have a solid understanding of employee relationships, be able to anticipate needs, and look to continually develop/perform as a critical part of the team. The HR Specialist must be reliable and should accurately follow instructions with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
This position will offer flexibility for primarily remote work schedules, with periodic in-office presence needed for Corporate new hire onboarding, high level meetings, etc., and is open to the following locations: Dallas, TX / Meridian, ID / Atlanta, GA / Denver, CO / Houston, TX / Austin, TX / Los Angeles or Orange, CA.
HR Specialist responsibilities, include, but are not limited to the following:
Support internal HR related inquiries for assigned client groups
Serve in an administrative capacity for HR initiatives being implemented by the team
Assist with new hire onboarding preparation
Submit and track troubleshooting tickets and HR data requests on behalf of the HR team and Executive leaders for assigned client groups
Process employee data changes in the organization’s people system, Workday
Produce monthly reports to finance and serve as point of contact for one-off requests relating to employee salaries and department changes
Maintain store, and organize digital folders for the HR team
Assist in the preparation of reports and materials to senior leaders of the company
Oversee the completion of compensation and benefits documentation and report maintenance
Report HR related payroll issues (ie. payroll, benefits, data, etc.) and follow up until resolved
Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices
Special projects, as needed
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and 0 years of relevant experience
Tech savvy with advanced proficiency on MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
1-2+ years of HR related experience strongly preferred
Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations
Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven record of working well under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
Strong attention to detail
Prior experience with human resources information systems
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Experience working at a large corporation, supporting a matrix organization
