The primary purpose of this position, LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST GS-0346-13, is to serve as a Senior Logistics Management Specialist/ Product Support Manager performing logistics duties the support ICBM programs. Responsibilities Serve as primary point of contact for development, update an continuous evaluation of the total program of logistics sustainment actions required in support of ICBM programs. Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate activities of functional specialties: including contracting, engineering, budget and configuration/data management to develop complete strategic and tactical plans to support acquisition programs. Evaluate status and effectiveness of programs across all functional areas to assure that Integrated Support Plans and time-phased schedules are adhered to by all activities. Interpret acquisition, logistics, and program management policies and directives. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes ability to plan, organize, and direct workload responsibilities and priorities within a working group, organize multiple organizational entities into an integrated and cohesive team, possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to interact with team members and external stakeholders; experience in excess of three years is preferred to be within a weapon system acquisition or sustainment activities and familiarity with the nuclear enterprise, preferably with MMIII Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) is highly desired but not required.NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

• Knowledge of the laws, principles, and practices of logistics management and systems acquisition along with a thorough familiarity with and technical competence in the major material management functional areas.
• Knowledge of system logistics, program support, planning, programming budgeting, and funding polices; logistics data requirements, management systems and integrated data systems objectives, planning, and projects.
• Knowledge of the way in which industrial concerns and the using activities/operating contactors are affected by AFMC programs.
• Ability to professionally represent AFMC, AFNWC, and ICBM SD in meetings and personal contacts with representatives of USAF using commands, joint commands, other agencies, and contractors.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely and with technical accuracy. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an office-like setting involving everyday risks and discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of an office-like environment. Education Additional Information Hill Air Force Base provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and the Minuteman III ICBM, and performs depot maintenance of the F-16, A-10, and C-130 Hercules aircraft.
