The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for day-to-day administration of policies and human resource programs: Basic payroll functions ie: timesheets for 600+ employees, Employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, HRIS, New hires/Terminations/Orientation.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for weekly payroll timecard reviews for over 600 + employees, updates/processes on a daily basis, or as needed, including but not limited to, terminations, reclassification, promotions and demotions.
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining activity in the time and attendance system; ensures supervisors approve weekly timesheets, review timesheets entries for time adjustments.
Maintaining employee records and payroll transaction for the following: employee meal waiver and timecard adjustments.
Responsible for the distributing paycheck to supervisors on a weekly basis.
Enters new hires and temporary employees into Ultipro/HRIS system. Including the distribution of employee ID badges.
Responsible for employee relations investigations.
Answers routine inquiries related to payroll, timekeeping benefits, and general HR policies and procedures.
Verifies unemployment insurance claims and refers exceptions to the Sr. Human Resources Manager.
Provides employees with necessary HR forms for payroll deductions, wellness subsidy reimbursement, beneficiary change forms, and name and address change forms. Initiates appropriate changes with payroll department and/or benefit carriers.
Provide support in creating Ultipro reports for HR and other departments as needed.
Initiates warning letters for violation of the company attendance policy.
Responsible for new hire benefits enrollments and I-9 Verifications.
Responsible for internal/external new hire orientation to include: entering all new hire documentation into HRIS system accurately and timely.
Support managers, supervisors/employees on policies, procedures/practices pertaining to human resources & benefits.
Ensure maintenance of applicable plant policies, procedures, documents related to Human Resources (i.e. job descriptions, work rules, etc.)
Support employee functions & activities (i.e. picnics, holiday parties, etc.).
Oversee the off boarding process including: preparation of termination paperwork, scheduling and conduction the exit interview, notifying employee of COBRA rights, if applicable, preparation of final paycheck, audit and close employee file, and make necessary changes in computer systems.
Assist the Sr. HR manager as needed and perform all other duties as assigned.
Ensuring the Company is in compliance with all applicable statues and regulations governing employees (including without limitation, the American with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act/California Family Rights Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Fair Labor Standards Act, CAL and Federal OSHA requirements with respect to posters, notices, announcements, and any other matter concerning compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent professional experience in HR. 5 years Human professional certification (PHR, SPHR) Preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively with all departments and management levels within the company.
Ability to deliver and execute high quality and consistent Human Resources processes and services.
Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead people through change.
Ability to work flexible hours in support of a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
Experience with human resource, payroll, and applicant software and tracking systems and ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
Strong word processing and spreadsheet skills, ideally in a Microsoft.
Resources experience in employee relations, leave of absences, benefits, and other HR generalist roles.
High degree of professionalism and ability to protect sensitive and confidential information
Strong knowledge and experience with Federal and state employment law, including leaves of absence, ADA, EEO, FLSA, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Highly organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to comprehend complex material but also have a strong attention to detail.
Available to work flexible hours with twenty-four (24) hour responsibility to the site.
Range $72,000 to $88,000 per year
