We’re looking for a Construction Safety Specialist who prides themselves on their ability to think creatively and provide innovative solutions to complex problems to join our team. You’ll act as the primary safety liaison between Corporate and branch managers in several locations and will conduct job site inspections to monitor conformance with Construction Safety Standards. More importantly though, you’ll be in charge of cultivating an ethos of construction safety best practices across our organization.

Job Duties Include:

• Conduct safety/environmental incident investigations and complete associated infraction reports
• Inspect construction sites and company properties to ensure compliance and promote prevention
• Review incident data and metrics to identify trends and recommend corrective action to address these areas
• Conduct safety/environmental training
• Provide risk assessment of construction/manufacturing and shop locations to evaluate safety hazards and offer remedial action
• Evaluate operational practices/equipment for safety compliance
• Perform all duties in accordance with Environmental, Health and Safety Guidelines

Education:

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
• Bachelor’s Degree: Preferred (Safety, Risk Management or related)

Experience:

• 3 plus years experience of direct construction safety with a bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of experience in construction experience
• Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30 or 10 training certification
• Strong overall knowledge of applicable environmental statutes and safety regulations
• Operational knowledge of general industry and construction activities
• Ability to think creatively in providing effective solutions to complex problems

Computer Skills:

• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Comfortable with using smart phone.

Certifications and Licenses:

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation preferred

Communication:

• Bilingual preferred (ability to accurately and proficiently understand, read, write and speak both English and Spanish).

Travel:

• Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time out of state.

Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen. Valid driver’s license issued in the employing state and good driving record.
