WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview)
Plan, schedule, direct, and implement overall strategic goals and objectives for a program. Manage the work assignment and performance of staff and volunteers. Develop and manage department budget. Represent the Red Cross and promote services and programs to the community. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.
Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD
1: Plan and develop methods and procedures for implementing programs, manage and coordinate program activities, and exercise control over staff responsible for specific functions or phases of program. Review and approve programs and ensure compliance with internal policies and industry best practices.
2: Manage and coordinate activities concerned with implementation and carrying out objectives of program. Ensure consistent delivery of programs, quality and growth of programs and the integration with other programs within the organization. Negotiate agreements and modes of operations with key partners, host governments, and other stakeholders.
3: Review reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specified program objectives and modify methodology as required to obtain objectives. Ensure compliance with appropriate organization policies, donor agreements, and applicable rules and regulations.
4: Develop and manage financial and budget activities to fund operations and maximize efficiency.
5: Identify priorities and devise program strategies to support these priorities. Develop and implement short and long-term strategies to integrate priorities into the overall organization business plan and manage the execution of those strategies.
6: May work in conjunction with internal departments and external government and/or non-government agencies in the development of grant procurement and/or fundraising strategies.
7: Hire, train, coach, counsel and evaluate performance of direct reports and volunteers. Develop and set individual and departmental team goals and manage/drive change. Allocate and direct resources, including assigning work, to deliver program or service effectively and efficiently.

This is a term-limited, benefits eligible position expected to last 24 months from date of hire with the opportunity to extend based on business need.”

Skills & Abilities: Develop strategies to achieve organizational goals. Demonstrate analytical and decision-making skills to develop creative processes for continuous program or service improvements. Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong skills in planning and problem-solving. Ability to relate well and effectively with diverse groups and individuals. Proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiarity with federal, state and local employment laws. Ability to work on a team.
Travel: Travel may be required.
