Ameriprise Financial Hiring for Certified Public Accountant Job at Peoria, AZ Full Time

We are a large financial planning firm seeking a part-time, seasonal CPA to join our fast-growing firm. With 7 locations in 4 states, we have an opportunity to dramatically expand our tax practice. We currently prepare approximately 200 personal returns per year, and we are looking for the right person to add to our tax planning capabilities. Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with individual and small business tax reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Preparing Estate (Form 706) and gift tax (Form 709) returns
• Preparing Fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041)
• Familiarity with trust language and estate plans
• Preparing S Corp returns (1120S) and partnership returns (1065)
• Preparation of simple to complex 1040 individual income tax returns
• Equity compensation tax reporting (ISO, NQSO, RSU, ESPP)
• Schedule C and Schedule E (rentals and K-1’s)
• Form 114 FBAR filing
• Calculation and preparation of estimated taxes
• Preparation of filing extensions
• Experience in responding to IRS notices

Required Qualifications

• CPA certification
• Friendly and pleasant demeanor
• Familiarity with common tax preparation software (CCH ProSystem fx, CCH Axcess, Lacerte, etc.)
• Familiarity with tax return submission and confirmation process
• In depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations and deadlines
• Proficient in Excel
• Keen attention to detail (accuracy is a must)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle stress of deadlines while working quickly and accurately and maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor
• Ability to handle sensitive/confidential matters in a tactful and discreet manner
