Responsible for all warehousing requirements and the daily management of the local logistics team. Coordinate and drive the most cost-effective delivery & receipt of products and materials for the Feed & Biofuel Operations in the USA and Internationally. Daily focus on meeting demanding deadlines and maintaining a high-quality of products, services, and standards. Ensure compliance with Andritz policies and governance while directing the staff daily to efficiently perform all duties required to receive, store, pull, issue, transport, and ship purchased or manufactured products. Utilize SAP computer system to complete all associated transactions in an accurate and efficient manner, for all internal as well as external customers. Develop programs for improved workflow and department employee’s duty assignments as well as inventory accuracy. Ensure local systems and standards meet global expectations.
FUNCTIONS:
- Develop, lead, and execute Logistic Strategies locally and globally as needed.
- Manage, develop, and coach a lean workforce capable of 100% multitasking in all job requirements.
- Identify, evaluate and develop Suppliers to the business and contingency plans for lack of shipping (Land & Ocean) events.
- Create and manage contracts with vendors where applicable to maintain services e.g. shuttle service, forklifts, trucking agreements, etc.
- Work through project / logistics issues while maintaining positive relationships with all internal/external customers.
- Maintain daily interaction with all internal customers/departments to meet strict deadlines by balancing the needs of both types of customers accurately.
- Produce monthly departmental KPI reports.
- Actively participate and review/reconcile all customer complaints as a result of Logistic issues.
- Key User of Andritz Inc. Business Systems (SAP) to support the accurate and timely storage and distribution of company products.
- Manage all activities for movement of material into and out of storeroom and ensure that all transactions are accurately and timely entered into MRP (SAP) system.
- Oversee all inventory control systems to ensure accurate records.
- Coordinate monthly cycle counts to ensure 100% of all parts are accounted for on an annual basis.
- Coordinate monthly cycle counts with Garden City Manager to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Continuously evaluate warehousing workload, (receiving, parts distribution, and shipment preparation) and adjust subordinates duties to maintain efficiency and keep current.
- Work closely with production and planning to ensure smooth efficient flow of jobs to and from floor.
- Manage and reconcile all issues related to vendor and receipt issues.
- Responsible for seeing that distribution services continue meeting scheduled requirements for Production, Planning, Aftermarket, & Capital departments.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of three years of business experience in Logistics and/or Business coordination.
- A proven ability to understand and work with verbal and written instructions coupled with the ability to handle multiple tasks in an efficient and professional manner.
- Ability to project a positive, professional image to peers, customers, and vendors.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally.
- Ability to manage exceptions – problem solving skills.
- Experience in all Microsoft Office software
