Another Source’s client, Crisis Connections, is recruiting a Senior Director of Human Resources to join their team in Seattle, WA. This is a hybrid role with the opportunity to work remotely 2-3 days per week. For the days you will be working on-site, there is free parking offered at the location in Downtown Seattle!
Crisis Connections has been responding to calls for help and serving as a community safety net since 1964. We offer an array of support services that are free and easily accessible addressing “all things crisis”. Our core programs include: the 24-Hour Crisis Line, King County 2-1-1, Teen Link, WA Warm Line, WA Recovery Help Line, and support after suicide services. With over 350 trained volunteers and 160 staff, CC provides support, resources and certified training for King County and other communities statewide. And in July of 2020, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted rules to establish 9-8-8 as the new, nationwide, 3-digit phone number for Americans in crisis to connect with suicide prevention and mental health crisis counselors. The Crisis Connections 9-8-8 call center will support and service the state’s most densely populated and highest need regions of the state.

About the Role:
The Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organizations values and talent strategy; reports to the CEO and serves on the executive management team; and assists and advises agency about union relations and Human Resources issues.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance conversations.
- Employee and Labor Relations committed to promoting respectful, effective, fair and professional relationships between Crisis Connections and its employee union membership
General Duties / Responsibilities
- Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
- Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs.
- Advise management CBA contracts, worker grievances, and disciplinary procedures.
- Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
- Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
Equity and Inclusion Responsibilities
- Supports CEO and consultants in designing and implementing DEI initiatives.
- Guides and supports executive leadership team and DEI workgroups to further enhance DEI efforts that attracts and retains diverse candidates.
- Assists in cultivating our DEI initiatives to create an environment where individuals who have been historically underrepresented based on race/ethnicity, gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, ability, or military status feel safe, included, and able to bring their full selves to work each day.
- Secures DEI educational opportunities for staff and volunteers to build DEI acumen.
- Designs, implements, and supports educational, cultural, and social programs that celebrate diversity and foster inclusion and belonging for staff and volunteers,
- Updates policies and practices to ensure an inclusive workplace.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- At least 7 years of human resource management experience
- Experience representing organization management in labor relations with unions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
