Antelope Memorial Hospital Hiring for Medical Records Clerk Job at Neligh, NE Full Time

Schedule: 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
Reports To: Medical Records Supervisor
Position Summary: Maintain medical records in accordance with federal and state guidelines.
Essential Functions:

• Receive and follow schedule/instructions from your supervisor as outlined in established policies and procedures.
• Preparing patient charts and gathering information and documents from patients
• Ensuring that the medical records are organized, accurate, and complete
• Efficiently filing paperwork and reports
• Safeguarding patient records and complies with HIPAA standards
• Processing the records for admitting and discharging patients, outpatients, and completing for scanning
• Scanning data into the facility’s main system database
• Complete electronic birth certificates
• Maintain various registries for all patients including deaths, outpatients, daily record keeping
• Completing insurance requests/continuation of care requests from providers from hospitals, clinics, audits, etc.
• Ensure that established policies and procedures for medical records are followed
• Answer telephone and accurately take messages
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel as well as other departments within the facility to assure medical records can be properly maintained
• Attend and participate in training, required education programs
• Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent patient care information to assure patient rights are protected and HIPAA procedures are followed
• Follow established safety/disaster and infection control policies and procedures as well as report all incidents/accidents

Education/Experience/Knowledge:

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma
• Education in Health Information Management preferred
• Previous experience in healthcare preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 – $23.00 per hour
