We have expanded our HR function (aka the “Talent Team”) to support our organization’s growth, and currently have. an opening for an Employee Relations Specialist. The Employee Relations Specialist reports to our Talent Program Manager and is primarily responsible for investigating and resolving employee relations issues, by working directly with supervisors and employees, providing counsel, and helping manage employee performance. Additionally, in this role, you will assist in implementing programs to increase employee engagement, wellbeing, and satisfaction.

As the Employee Relations Specialist, you will be responsible to:
Cultivate relationships with supervisors, leaders, employees, and other Talent members as an employee relations advisor helping to identify employee relations issues, using experience and judgment to bring the issues to resolution, and serve as a dedicated liaison to our Commercial Stormwater (CSW) group
Assist with investigation and resolution of routine and/or ongoing employee relations issues such as disciplinary actions and complaints
Provide case management support and assist with preparation of documentation for issues such as disciplinary action, performance management, resolution of complaints
Support company termination and exit processes and involuntary separations
Assist with conducting one-on-one exit interviews with departing employees including administration and management of online exit survey platform, providing trending analysis and preparing timely reports
Reinforce company employee development, engagement, and retention initiatives to include diversity, equity and inclusion-based activities and efforts, stay interviews, employee appreciation, internal communications, and employee training and career growth
Develop administrative proficiency in supporting employee learning and training, including assessing compliance training needs, issuing learning assignment, tracking, and follow-up
Help to ensure employee policies are up to date, recommend revisions as needed, and provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, practices, and procedures
Collect and compile data including reporting and tracking of activity such as ER cases, stay interviews, and exit interviews
Provide administrative support of the annual performance review process
Provide other support as needed within Employee Relations Team for special projects and peak capacity periods as well as broader Talent Team priorities
Support the Talent Program Manager directly as needed
Other duties as required

What we’re looking for:
BA/BS (preferably in Human Resource Management or related field)
2-4 years of HR generalist experience with strong emphasis and proven success in resolving employee relations issues, utilizing an internal consultative approach
Preferred skills:
PHR and/or SHRM CP certification
Knowledge of federal employment-related laws and regulations
Superb verbal and written communication skills
Proven business acumen and analytical skills
Ability to evaluate organizational challenges and identify innovative solutions
Demonstrated leadership capabilities
Track record of creativity and problem solving
