The HR/Recruiting Assistant, provides general support of HR functions to hiring managers on campus. Will assist in identifying best practices and organizational efficiencies, as well as mentor and train line managers to accurately apply human resource policies and programs within the unit. This position will focus primarily on recruiting and onboarding, while providing opportunities to grow within the HR function.
Job Responsibilities
Monitors internal and external job boards for entry to mid-level positions.
Engage candidates and internal partners throughout the recruiting and selection process.
Collaborates with community partners, employment agencies, and the University to attract and retain talent.
Support new business through pipelining candidates for anticipated business.
Organizes, implements, and leads new hire orientation sessions.
Assists new hires with onboarding tasks.
Creates and manages employee personnel files, training records, I-9 information, uniform inventory, etc.
Participates in on and off campus events including job fairs, training events, engagement events, and networking opportunities.
Maintain compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager.
May be required to work nights, weekends or as business of component instruct.

Qualifications
At least one year in office setting and administrative functions, experience in HR and/or Talent Acquisition strongly preferred.
Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
Proficiency working with all social media platforms as a recruiting tool.
Must be able to create, plan and manage creative HR strategies.
Must have strong communication skills, be comfortable speaking in group settings, and enjoy working with people.
Must be proficient with MS Office and comfortable learning and working within multiple computer applications.
Knowledge of EEO laws and general HR policies.
Ability to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with others.
Detail oriented, ability to multi-task, with strong organizational skills are required.
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
