Job Description:

The Senior Treasury Accountant will report to the Director of Finance, Treasury and Accounting. This position will be responsible for managing the monthly close process, booking transactions, and reconciling across all general ledger accounts. They will also be responsible for operational support of treasury functions including loan disbursements, purchases, and sales.

This Accountant must maintain strong and relevant accounting principles to ensure accurate and timely reporting. This position addresses tight deadlines and a variety of activities including cash management, transaction processing, month-end close and audit support preparation. A successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Perform accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to preparing journal entries and reconciling across all accounts and lines of business and performing monthly close processes. Resolve any variances through account analyses on a regular basis.
• Reconcile loan origination, loan acquisition, loan sale, loan refunds, cash, and liability activity. Resolve any variances through account analyses on a regular basis.
• Reconcile third party origination bank accounts monthly.
• Perform corporate cash management tasks such as pending wires and ACHs.
• Prepare monthly investor reporting for trusts, including supporting schedules for reviews, taxes, and annual audits.
• Maintain documentation for existing processes and document procedures for new processes.
• Respond to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and prepare supporting schedules for audits.
• Meet processing and reporting deadlines.
• Assist in and work with team to improve operational efficiencies and effectiveness.
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and contribute to special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• ERP experience required.
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Microsoft Excel.
• Analytical skills and thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts to achieve a positive outcome. Able to work independently in a team environment without close supervision.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, as well as attentiveness to details and a commitment to follow up. Able to effectively manage several tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness/ability to work late hours when faced with tight deadlines.

Bonus points if you have:

• Advanced degree or CPA (or working toward) and/or Information Systems background.
• Experience managing a monthly close process.
• Work experience in Consumer Finance, the Student Loan Industry or with Asset-Backed Securitization.
• SQL experience is a plus.
• Previous experience working with Oracle NetSuite (ERP) a plus, but not required.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
