Sales Engineer or Technical Account Manager or Product Realization Manager
Description:
We need someone with a complete understanding, proven experience, and a successful track record of the entire homologation process of wireless devices – 2G, 3G, 4G & 5G on operator’s networks for wireless terminals, IOT products, Wireless Broadband, LTE connected smart products in achieving Product Selection, RFP preparation, RFP Award management, Lab Entry, Technical Approval and New Product Introduction – NPI from conception to market launch.
Duties:
Planning: We will launch new products in USA with wireless operators including; AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and their MVNO’s such as; Tracfone, Consumer Cellular, Great Call-Lively, Dish/Boost Mobile, Ultra Mobile and the Tier 2 and Regional Carriers such as; US Cellular, Cellcom, CSpire, NexTech and others. All of these products will require a network carrier issued Technical Acceptance (TA) which requires a host of other certificates such as PTCRB, CTIA, FCC also including regulatory requirements. Planning and executing of these launches that requires the TA is the key critical success path of this position.All support process of product testing and approval i.e.: Review of operator’s requirement documents and match with specs of proposed products from inception for key understanding of current operating systems, applications, software, hardware, UI/UX, known quality measurements and benchmark products/projects. Be able to communicate these requirements to HQ Team in Shanghai, China and produce the desired product development results need to reach the TA on time.
Manage Product Realization Process: Review entire project for compatibility concerns, budget with expenses & time, forecast for future technology developments for emerging technologies, all product launch requirements, quality standards, after sales planning, and manage multiple project trackers in relation to LE, TA, NPI and product launches. Communicate with all parties involved such as; Testing Carrier, USA Team, China Team, 3rd party suppliers, vendors, contractors such as; Tech Mahindra, Aircom, Qualcomm.
Internal/External Customer Support: Communicate with customers as it relates to all things technical during the sell-in, RFP, LE & TA cycle. Product support, testing and homologation process before, during and after the launch, answer customer calls relating to product technical questions, participate in QBR sessions, support sales activities, client relations, coordinate all technical support for clients, test sample preparation, visit onsite product project meetings, tradeshows. Build the process to translate the core requirements for USA customers to our support Team in China with the expected outcome of quality products that achieve and ontime TA while achieving the known quality metrics.
Technical Business Development: Manage all arrangements for customer meetings, executive presentations, RFP participation/submission/execution, pricing models and all elements necessary to deliver plans to customers. Cross-functional planning and management with supply chain, technical support, product marketing, finance, customer service, account management, operations and other supporting elements relating to executing the technical planning for each customer. Research and suggest strategic direction for new developing technologies. Facilitate and execute elements necessary to on-board required supporting companies. Review commercial agreements and contracts for alignment of needs vs internal requirements as it relates to quality of the products. Provide director level communication and accountability with account contracts before and after execution.
Major Job Function
1. Product Development Management; To be the go to person for all technical product development, technical specifications and device compatibility for customers internal and external groups.
2. Product Launch Management; To provide full technical support during the Product Planning, RFP stage, Sell-In stage, LE, TA and selling cycle
3. Device Technical Expert; To be able to communicate between ATEL USA Team to ATEL China Team all customers technical and product requirements to achieve product award with following TA.
4. Lead Technical Product Development for customers: Manage all processes associated with ranging products with customers from a Technical Acceptance POV. This includes; RFP management, device requirements review and gap analysis, lab testing coordination, product planning.
Requirements:
Expertise –
Technical Product Planning, Device Roadmap Planning, RFP Management, RFQ Management, Contract Negotiation with 3rd parties, Carrier technical & product document expert, technical trouble shooting with hardware, software, applications. Industry wide requirements implementation. Experience in: Consumer Electronics, Smart things, Wireless and Telecommunications, Manufacturing OEM/ODM process, Expert with Wireless Operator TA process.
Education – Bachelor’s Degree, 10+ years direct experience, recommendations, detailed list of benchmark projects or products
