Government Relations Manager/Senior Manager – Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment (USA)
ASM is a leading, global supplier of semiconductor wafer processing equipment. We have over 4,000 talented and skilled employees, based in 15 different hubs worldwide. ASM was established in Arizona in 1976, as the company’s first US hub. Since then, the site has grown to be a pivotal research and development facility for ASM’s worldwide operations. It’s an epicenter of progress where our team makes key discoveries that shape the future.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced US Government Relations (GR) and Public-Private Partnership Manager to join our expanding ASM team in Arizona and our global GR team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for establishing and fostering strong relationships with government agencies, industry groups, and private sector partners at federal and state level to support growth of our operations in the US.
This manager will perform as a regional team member in the global growing Government Relations (GR) Organization in ASM. The position will report to the Director of GR and is based in Arizona (preferred) or Washington, DC (remote).
Responsibilities:
1. Government Relations: Develop and drive execution of ASM’s GR strategy in USA. Build and maintain productive relationships with relevant governmental agencies at both federal and state levels to educate policy makers on broad range of issues and promote the growth of ASM.
2. Policy Analysis: Review, analyze and track legislative and regulatory developments that could impact the semiconductor equipment industry in general and ASM specifically. Provide timely insights and recommendations to senior management to ensure proactive responses to changes in the policies and business environment.
3. Advocacy: Design and implement advocacy strategies for achieving policy goals with relevant federal and state legislative, administrative, regulatory, and other governmental entities. Represent ASM’s interest to members of Congress, industry associations, and other public meetings or forums to articulate the company’s interests and concerns and advocate for favorable policies, incentives, and regulations.
4. Funding Opportunities: Identify and pursue available funding opportunities from government grants, subsidies, and other financial incentives to support the company’s “Growth through Innovation” strategy.
5. Public-Private Partnership Development and Project Management: Engage with potential private sector partners, research institutions, and universities to identify potential collaborative opportunities for KPU. Coordinate public-private partnership projects, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives, KPU commitment and compliance with contractual agreements.
Requirements:
· Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders; preferably strong network of contacts within government circles, industry associations, and research institutions in US .
