The Contra Costa County’s Assessor’s Office is recruiting to fill one (1) full-time Assessor’s Local Exemptions Specialist position located in Martinez, California. This single position classification is located in the Local Exemptions Unit in the Assessor’s Office and reports directly to the Assessor’s Clerical Staff Manager.
The Assessor’s Local Exemptions Specialist is responsible for evaluating and processing claims for local property tax exemption, including on-site inspections of properties, and provides lead direction to clerical workers engaged in related records maintenance and local exemption transactions activity. The ideal candidate will possess extensive and specialized knowledge of government codes and other laws and regulations which provide exemptions from local property taxes.

License: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. Out of State valid Motor Vehicle Operators License will be accepted during the application process.
Experience: Three (3) years full time general clerical experience, including six (6) months clerical experience in a California County Assessor’s Office in the Local Exemptions Unit.
