The base pay range for this position is $19 to $22 per hour. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of the offer. *Responsibilities:*
* Provide backup support for the medical assistant team, encompassing all medical assistant functions.
* Assist in supervising and evaluating clinic staff, including receptionists, medical assistants, and other support personnel, contributing to performance reviews and implementing corrective action plans when necessary.
* Oversee and participate in staff training alongside the clinic manager.
* Assist in patient intake, financial screening, and visit preparation.
* Conduct training sessions for medical and lab assistants, as well as volunteer staff, focusing on health education, laboratory practices, and dispensary services. Offer ongoing supervision to these individuals.
* Aid in medication refill requests, specialty and procedure referrals, and pre- and post-clinic chart reviews as required.
* Review charts, lab results, and encounter forms to ensure completeness and follow-up when needed.
* Address clinic scheduling issues, patient wait times, and other concerns to enhance service efficiency and quality.
* Undertake administrative tasks and clinical care as assigned by the Clinic Manager.
* Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to oversee dispensary logs and storage to maintain quality assurance.
* Coordinate inventory, ordering, and maintenance of medical supplies.
* Provide coverage for sick/vacation leaves for patient services representatives, medical records specialists, medical assistants, and other clinic support staff when no other resources are available.
* Assist with various administrative projects and tasks as necessary.
*Qualifications:*
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
* Prior experience in a medical office setting is required
* Graduation from a Medical Assistant program/school, or certification as a Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant.
* Possession of a current CPR card for Healthcare Professionals (BLS)
* Familiarity with Epic EMR software ideal
