Reporting to the CFO, the bookkeeper will be responsible for processing financial transactions, assisting with HR functions, and preparing financial reports. If you possess general bookkeeping experience, customer service and problem-solving skills, as well as a can-do attitude, you may qualify for this position.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions and ensuring legal requirements are within compliance.
Responsible for processing accounts payable/receivable, payroll, while managing employee time recording.
Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions and reconciling entries.
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
Maintains historical records by filing documents.
Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Performs collections for all past due accounts.
Prepares thorough year end QuickBooks files to Company Accounting Firm.
Manages all HR functions inclusive but not limited to New Hire and Termination process.
Contributes to team effort by holding themselves accountable to achieve desired results.
Maintain good working relationships with all company employees, uses time wisely, and has the ability to switch gears as needed.
Essential Qualifications
Five (5) plus years of extensive bookkeeping experience working with yearly revenues, in excess of two (2) million dollars.
3+ years working as a bookkeeper or accountant with revenues of more than $2,000,000.
Basic human resource knowledge and customer service experience.
Associate degree in accounting, finance or related field is required. Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting is preferred.
Verifiable expertise with QuickBooks (certification is preferred) and Microsoft Office Products (Word and Excel) is required.
Construction Industry Experience Is Preferred.
Payroll, Payroll Taxes, AP/AR, billing, and collections financial analysis, and reconciliations experience required.
Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
Generalist experience with administrative and clerical duties.
Strong communication skills in the English language (reading, writing & speaking). Spanish language skill is a plus.
Mathematical abilities at a level required to perform basic business math functions.
Experience computer skills using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
Working knowledge of proposals, contracts and change orders.
