POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Director, Human Resources is responsible for directing all the people functions of the organization in accordance with the policies and practices of Balfour Senior Living. The Senior Director, Human Resources is responsible for strategic planning to provide the organization with the best people talent available and to position the organization as the employer of choice by being aware of policies, practices and trends within the industry.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Plan develop, and implement the organization’s human resource function and performance
o Participates in the development of the organization’s plans and programs as a strategic partner, particularly from the perspective of the impact on people
o Translates the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans
o Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action
o Develops staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the organization for positions of responsibility.
o Identifies appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for all levels within the organization
o Develops progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance
o Develops human resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs to fill the identified gaps as well as to create programs to allow for the training and development of associates to grow within the organization
o Continually assesses the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets
o Establishes credibility throughout the organization to be an effective listener and problem solver of associate issues
o Develops appropriate policies and programs for the effective management of the associates in the organization
o Enhances and/or develops, implements and enforces HR policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization
o Maintains knowledge of HR policies, programs, laws and issues.
o Advise management regarding hiring decisions, equal employment opportunity, compensation, benefits, and health/safety issues
o Manages the budget and other financial measures of the HR department
o Continues improving the programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational people issues of the organization
o Evaluates the HR division structure and team plan for growth and continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as for providing individuals with professional and personal growth opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Generalist background with broad knowledge of employment, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, and training and development.
Demonstrated experience training employees and leaders in a variety of training programs related to HR topics, staff development, leadership, etc., to effectively ensure the delivery of training programs to meet diverse staff needs
Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are required to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships in an extremely fast paced and demanding work environment
Have experience working with a growing company that has multiple locations both in state and out of state
At least 5 years’ experience in field of Human Resources
Ability to use HRIS systems and other related programs necessary to do the job
Read, speak, and understand the English language, including a high level of competence in writing and speaking clearly and persuasively
Be able to travel between the Balfour communities both in state and eventually out of state
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends when necessary
