Conduct prompt, thorough, and fair investigations across multiple business segments for Bath and Body Works with a focus on allegations of misconduct, including harassment, retaliation, and discrimination. At times, the investigator will conduct investigations specifically in partnership with in-house counsel, external counsel, ethics and compliance, or other business functions. This role is part of a newly created HR Services team.
Investigators are responsible for all of the following:
Analyzing allegations assigned to them
Conducting background research
Acquiring any needed electronically stored information or data
Holding an intake meeting with claimant and/or management team
Exercising considerable judgment and discretion in scenarios that are complex, highly- sensitive, and require confidentiality
Developing an investigation plan Conducting the investigation
Interviewing witnesses with a high degree of empathy balanced against an ability to provide direct feedback and confront witnesses with difficult information
Creating appropriate notes and documentation in a case management system
Consulting with appropriate subject matter experts (SMEs)
Collaborating with relevant partners, including Legal, Asset Protection, HR Business Partners, Internal Audit, and Operational Leaders
Drafting a written report
Communicating an appropriate summary of the investigation
Identifying root causes, process gaps, or operational improvements based on investigative findings
Recommending corrective actions, solutions, or improvements based on investigative findings
Managing multiple cases simultaneously
Demonstrating attention to detail and a passion for getting things right
Advising partners proactively based on trending workplace investigation issues

Collaborate/Partner with relevant partners including Employment Law, Ethics & Compliance, Asset Protection, HR Business Partners, Internal Audit, and the business to complete investigations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Law, Journalism, Psychology, Public Policy or related field or equivalent experience
5+ years of progressive experience in workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and/or compliance enforcement
Working knowledge of employment-related laws, regulations, and procedures (e.g. DOL practices, EEOC processes, Title VII protections, FMLA/CFRA, ADA accommodations, NLRA, etc.)
Proven ability to evaluate and manage highly-sensitive and confidential situations
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to assess complex situations
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen well, demonstrate sensitivity to all parties, and easily develop trust, rapport, and partnership with colleagues, stakeholders, and leaders
Commitment to the highest degree of ethical conduct
Strong client service focus and the ability to work independently and efficiently, prioritize demands and manage projects in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to work effectively with diverse associate populations
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Ability to work in a remote environment
Ability to travel 20 – 30%, where investigations require a physical presence Deep working knowledge of employment-related laws, regulations, and procedures (e.g. DOL practices, EEOC processes, Title VII protections, FMLA/CFRA, ADA accommodations, NLRA, etc.)
Formal investigations training or certification
Employment law experience or training in labor/associate relations
HR Professional certification (e.g., SPHR/PHR, SHRM-CP/SCP, or related/similar certifications)
Labor Relations experience.
Association of Workplace Investigators Certificate Holder (AWI-CH)
Other investigative experience or certifications from other disciplines, such as Ethics and Compliance, Certified Fraud Investigator, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Internal Auditor, etc.
