Baylor Genetics Hiring for Director of HR Operations at Houston, TX Full Time

***Position is remote, but candidate must be located in Houston, TX***

SUMMARY: The Director, Human Resources (HR) Operations leads multi-faceted HR programs and processes ensuring efficient HR services including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, and performance management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Business, Human Resources, or a related field

Experience:

• 7-8 years of progressive experience (as an HR manager or HR practitioner) in HR, including compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, and performance management, with a minimum of 3 years directly managing a team of HR professionals.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with HRIS (UKG preferred.)
• SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, or SPHR strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge and practice of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, COBRA, etc., and an understanding of state and federal law.
• 5 years of experience developing and tracking HR metrics across all disciplines of HR.
• Ability to navigate through change and ambiguity, all while staying focused to get critical items resolved and goals achieved.
• Exceptional project management skill set with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence (EQ).
• Self-motivated with demonstrated experience working independently; ability to seek answers and drive results.
• Extraordinary attention to detail and follow-through in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote) with intermediate proficiency in PowerPoint.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leads people programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits administration, payroll, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, and performance management.
• Develop and oversee compensation policies and pay practices. Provide determinations and recommendations for hiring salaries and promotional increase decisions to ensure internal equity and avoid any adverse impact.
• Oversee and take a lead role in conducting an annual review of employee benefits and healthcare plans in partnership with the broker, including leading the annual open enrollment process.
• Produce monthly metrics such as turnover rate, vacancy rate, time-to-fill, cost-per-hire.
• Oversee human resources information systems (HRIS), ensuring that system integrity and security are maintained. Assess the relevance of upgrades, additional features, customizations, and alternative products to address organizational needs.
• Performs regular audits of HRIS data to ensure data accuracy.
• Directly supervise HR Program Manager and Payroll Specialist.
• Support, maintain, integrate, and advance all HR technologies: UKG benefit carrier connections and UKG Pro.
• Foster an open-door policy to encourage transparent and honest communication using all available communication channels.
• Drive process standardization, optimization, and automatization in HR Ops processes
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and thrive in an ever-changing environment.
• Current knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
