SUMMARY
Arcticom, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Recruitment Specialist for a Department of State project in Washington, DC. The candidate works with REC staff and counterparts in other bureaus who are part of the recruitment consortium to analyze the traits, skills, and characteristics of successful candidates for the complete range of Foreign Service positions. He/she researches to identify and employ a broad set of resources, including professional organizations and online sites such as LinkedIn and resume databases, to identify (source) potential candidates for Foreign Service career opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· develops a list or “pipeline” of prospects, he/she sends a “pitch,” which is typically a short message introducing them to Department of State careers and highlighting their particular skillset and background. For example, when recruiting for an Information Management Specialist position, he/she may search out veterans with IT experience and send a message which highlights continuing service to the U.S. government
· He/she also draws on the work of the REC Marketing team and uses REC’s employer value proposition and key motivators in messaging to prospects
· If the prospect is interested, the candidate begins a dialogue and provides more details about the position and life in the Foreign Service
· He/she partners with recruiters on job-specific events and invites the “sourced” prospects to attend and learn more. These events often include a conversation between a recruiter and a Foreign Service employee in the field. Attendees are invited to ask questions and connect with recruiters
· As a Primary area of emphasis, recruit for Specialist career tracks with deficit numbers on the Foreign Service hiring registry and to promote the Department’s diversity goals
· In coordination with others in REC, he/she develops and implements strategies for outreach to identified prospects with the goal of informing, educating, and influencing them to apply for Foreign Service and Civil Service Opportunities
· tracks response rates and analyzes the efficiency of efforts to identify and conduct first-line communication with potential candidates
· he/she reports on metrics/outcomes with comparison to open-source industry benchmarks.
· He/she remains current on industry best practices for sourcing and recommends and/or adapts to changes in the industry
· takes part in recruitment activities as needed
· participates in meetings/briefings and performs other duties as needed
