POSITION OVERVIEW: The Human Resources Manager provides overall HR leadership for Berry Global, Inc. site operations in Cranbury, NJ. This position will develop, implement, and manage company policies and procedures; manage all functional areas within Human Resources to include but not limited to recruitment & retention, employee engagement, organizational development, compensation & benefit administration and staffing; keep plant management team informed of changes in employment law as well as ensure legal compliance; make recommendations that encompass trends and new developments within the HR profession; and make decisions that are in the best interest of the employees & the business. This position reports directly to the CPI Healthcare North America HR Director with a strong dotted-line reporting relationship to the Cranbury Plant Manager.
Responsibilities:
Partners with Plant Manager to align the efforts of HR department with operational goals
Responsible for the interpretation and application of HR policies, recommending changes and monitoring compliance
Counsels managers/supervisors on sound employee relations practices. Ensures equitable application of all policies and procedures
Align HR goals with plant and corporate objectives
Establish and maintain open and effective communication with employees
Manage all HR programs such as recruitment, benefits administration, compensation, diversity, performance management and employee training & development
Provide leadership, vision, and development to plant staff through training, coaching, and mentoring
Ensures all new hires receive successful onboarding experience. Coordinates new hire job training & documentation with managers/supervisors
Coordinate performance management and compensation review processes. Conducts local/competitive wage surveys, as needed
Conducts all required regulatory training & other HR related training
Prepare and manage HR budget & seeks out cost savings projects whenever possible
Assume other plant/divisional responsibilities, as appropriate
Qualifications:
5-7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience. Experience in a manufacturing setting is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree, SHRM certification preferred
Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality
Ability to make quick, sound decisions based on current information and past experiences
Exceptional communication & interpersonal skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision & prioritize responsibility
Self-motivated and directed
Exemplary interpersonal and relationship building skills
Superior conflict resolution skills
Working knowledge of local, state & federal employment laws
