This is a temporary position that is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act. It will end at the conclusion of the grant cycle.
JOB SUMMARY:
Greets visitors, handles incoming calls and performs general administrative duties. Assists applicants with completing online applications; opens, logs, and distributes incoming mail to the department; provide employment verification; fingerprint potential applicants and maintains database/files of fingerprint information. Works with the Campus Police conducting local and federal background checks for school volunteers; maintains database/files and distributes volunteer list to principals on a monthly basis. Responsible for fingerprinting fees, documenting money transactions and making deposits to the Accounting Department. Updates employee personal information and assist other administrative staff with duties as requested.

EDUCATION, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of High School Diploma or GED is required. Completion of two (2) years of college is desired.
Must have a minimum of two (2) years of office work experience. Experience in Human Resources/Personnel is preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance;
Performs a variety of responsible clerical, administrative, technical and office support duties in support of the school district;
Provides customer service in person and by telephone; screens and directs telephone calls; takes and relays messages; answers questions from employees, applicants and the general public regarding human resources issues, processes, policies and procedures;
Processes, verifies, and maintains personnel related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence;
Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions; processes personal action forms;
Answers questions regarding examinations, eligibility, salaries, benefits, and other pertinent information;
Compiles and prepares reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities;
Performs a variety of general office support duties; makes copies, maintains calendar of activities, meetings, and events;
Operates a variety of office equipment including a computer, copier, facsimile machine, typewriter; utilizes various computer application and software packages;
Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
SALARY/TERMS/BENEFITS:
239-day work year (12-month position); 8 hours per day.
Salary Range: $17.32 – $19.52 hourly (Grade 41) (placement on the salary schedule is based on years of allowed related experience). The stated salary range reflects the opportunity for pay over the course of the employee’s tenure. For External Candidates, the top salary is not a potential starting salary.

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.
