MT Program:
The Management Trainee Program is a non-rotational program that develops leaders who will drive the future of our organization. It’s a paid, full-time program for recent graduates with less than four years of professional work experience. Career opportunities will follow with hard work, the desire to learn, and the ability to develop productive working relationships.
Upon arrival at BNSF, Management Trainees receive an overview of our railroad and industry during orientation at our Fort Worth, Texas headquarters. Once the one-week orientation is complete, Management Trainees move into their assigned departments for on-the-job training, if in corporate departments (Accounting/Finance, Corporate Audit, Human Resources, Marketing, Sourcing, or Technology Services). If in an operations department (Engineering, Mechanical, or Transportation), following orientation, you will spend time at our Technical Training Center in Overland Park, Kan., learning to lead a diverse workgroup to safely and efficiently accomplish work assignments and goals that are in line with the company’s vision.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Following the orientation, trainees receive on-the-job training according to their assigned group/team.
Upon completion of orientation, Management Trainees may be placed in one of the following teams:
SOURCING
Leverage current recruiting strategies to build a strong pipeline of candidates to support the organizations hiring needs.
Identify new talent pipelines and implement plans for hard to fill positions.
Administer talent acquisition programs such as Employee Referrals, Sign-on Bonuses, etc.
Provide end user support for Talent Acquisition technologies and vendors.
Project management / process improvement.
FIELD HR
Manage division hiring plan needs to include:
Posting and screening requisitions, recruiting, interviewing, and selection of candidates for hire.
Prepare materials and present training or information session regarding HR related items to various employee groups.
Answer HR related inquiries and support HR initiatives for designated territory.
CENTRAL STAFFING
Extend offers and manage the backend process for system-wide hiring.
Partner with Field HR, Medical Dept, Vendors and team to process candidates through pre-employment process.
Project management / process improvement.
Relocation will be required upon hire to assigned location.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily an office environment, with some field activities.
Travel as required up to 25% of the time for Field HR roles.
Travel as required up to 25% for Sourcing and Central Staffing roles.
Normal office hours, Monday through Friday, with weekend or evening work as required.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT
Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Cumulative GPA of 2.50 for engineering majors OR cumulative GPA of 2.75 for non-engineering majors.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree from an accredited university to be completed prior to hire OR have obtained a degree within the past four years.
Less than four (4) years of work experience in a professional work environment, excluding internships or positions held while in high school or college.
Authorization to work in the US without Company sponsorship now AND in the future.
Ability to travel as required by the job.
Ability to relocate within the BNSF Railway operating system to start and/or upon career progression or business need.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.
Degree in Human Resources, Management, Legal Studies OR business-related major.
Previous HR internship or experience.
Proficiency in MS Office Applications (specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Proven leadership experience and excellent oral and written communication skills.
