Founded in 2003, Boombah Inc. is a premier designer and manufacturer of sporting goods and apparel. We have experienced tremendous growth over the past 20 years and are looking to grow our Product Development team!
Our corporate headquarters is a 265,000 square foot facility located in Yorkville, Illinois with our own manufacturing facility located in the Dominican Republic. We have a staff of committed professionals, who strive to BE what no one else is and GIVE what no one else will to our customers.
We are looking for an individual, who is just as driven as the athletes we serve, that will be responsible for creating and designing products which optimize function, value, and aesthetic appearance to help our customers achieve their goals both on and off the field.
Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for creating and developing sports equipment and accessories that are consistent with our brands identity and are on trend with the marketplace.
• Creates designs by initially sketching renderings and utilizing 3D modeling/CAD software to visually depict design ideas.
• Validates concepts through data research and provides estimated cost detail associated with development and design of the product to determine if it falls within the targeted price point and presents findings to leadership.
• Collaborates and brainstorms with Product Development, Engineers, Quality Assurance, and other cross functional members on designs to determine if a design is practical by gauging a products durability, function, and safety.
• Reviews, tests, and evaluates design concepts by computerized modelling and physical hands-on testing of models and documents findings.
• Researches market trends, materials, and manufacturing processes to assist in the development of products.
• Completes other miscellaneous duties as assigned in the design and development of new and existing products.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design or related field, required.
• Minimum 2 + years of previous industrial design experience with a consumer products company, required.
• Minimum 1 year of product development experience with the ability to bring product concepts to life, required.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud Applications – Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design, and Acrobat, required.
• Expertise in SolidWorks, preferred.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
• Proven ability to work in fast paced environment with tight deadlines while being detail orientated.
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Creative self-starter, who is persistent, a strong team player, successful collaborator and takes ownership.
• Experience in various manufacturing methods and materials: injection molding, casting, stamping, metal fabrication and finishing, required.
• Experience working with overseas team/vendors helpful.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
