Boon, a division of TOMY International, Inc. is looking for a Senior Industrial Designer who fits our company culture. LOCATION OF THE POSITION:
Tempe, AZ or Canton, MA
YOUR MISSION
? Transform consumer insights into innovative design solutions
? Ideate, sketch, design, prototype and build CAD (SolidWorks solid and surface 3D models)
? Multi task and manage timelines in a team environment
? Bring fresh and innovative ideas to each phase of product development
? Be able to communicate with other disciplines within the design department as well as other business functions for appropriate execution of the projects
? Manage the design process from beginning to end and around agreed-upon timelines and cost
? Work within original design intent and manufacturing constraints
? Communicate on a regular basis with our partners
? Communicate design intent to factories by creating CAD, Technical ID Specifications detailing fit, finishes, color, materials, graphics, etc.
? Create visual and functional prototypes for research and internal review
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
? Self-starter! Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
+ Ability to design with a modern aesthetic
? Ability to design within a given set of features and cost parameters
? Experience with MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchbook, Keyshot, & SolidWorks (solid and surfacing)
? Ability to produce manufacture-ready 3D CAD files.
? Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, plastics, metals, and soft goods (a plus)
? Strong spatial and mechanical understanding
? 5+ years of relevant consumer product design experience
? BA or BS in Industrial Design
? Comfortable working within an organic fast-paced design process
? Solid problem finding and problem-solving experience
? Strong knowledge of Juvenile Product category standards.
? Rapid prototyping and model making
