We are a hardwood lumber and dimension parts manufacturer located in Bradford, PA. Our organization is continuing to grow. We need a Human Resources Generalist that can support the near-term goal of hiring and onboarding hourly employees to support our growth, while also being successful over the long haul at managing employee time and attendance and payroll, employee benefits, and administrative support functions.
To be successful in the Human Resource Manager role, you’ll need the following skills and attributes.
· The ability to effectively communicate face-to-face, on the phone and via email
· The ability to handle the highs and lows of organizational life and respond appropriately to events
· Be respectful of employees at all parts and levels of the organization
· Provide managers accurate information in a timely manner to enable good decision-making
· Be able to keep information confidential
· Be the professional face of the facility when interacting with other organizations and with corporate
Tasks and roles specific to the position are as follows.
Employee Time and Attendance and Payroll
· Learn and effectively use Human Resources software to onboard employees, maintain employee information, do time and attendance, and process payroll
· Maintain orderly employee physical files
· Record and track the use of vacation time by employees
Employee Relations and Benefits
· Coordinate the recruitment and hiring of hourly employees
– Manage on-line job postings and recruitment
– Manage newspaper job advertisements
– On-board new employees
· Handle activities related to workers’ compensation, unemployment, and DoL issues
· Coordinate activities related to benefits and be a liaison with 3rd party providers
· Coordinate the open enrollment of medical and prescription benefits
· Facilitate company events (e.g. Christmas party, picnics, employee recognition)
Administrative
· Support controller as needed
· Assist safety team with scheduling events and trainings
· Manage phone directory
