Position Description
The Human Resources Associate position is a one (1) year term appointment that will provide administrative support to the Employee Records Group. The selected candidate will have extensive interaction with all Human Resources staff, and other Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) employees and visitors. The candidate must ensure accurate and up to date records for all active and terminated BNL employees, and some guests. This includes records maintenance, processing, storage and retrieval.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Creating and processing of new hires’ records
Monitoring, processing and auditing employee terminations.
Processing Leave of Absences to completion.
Processing of some BNL guest registrations.
Data entry, extracting data and running reports
Assisting with scheduled and ad-hoc reviews and audits.
Extensive interaction, information exchange, and assistance to a broad BNL community.
Preparing electronic retention files.
Maintain records and documentation related to functions.
Processing and tracking applications under The Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) with high degree of detail and accuracy.
Respond to internal and external requests for information and guidance.
Will perform clerical functions such as filing, retrieving of records, boxing records for scanning, etc.
May be assigned special records projects for growth and learning opportunities.
Performs all other related duties as required.

Experience with data entry, retrieval, and reporting in a modern Human Capital Management (HCM) system (e.g., Workday, Success Factors, etc.)
Knowledge of BNL policies and procedures.
