Buena Vista University (BVU) seeks a personable and community-oriented Coordinator for Community and Student Engagement. This individual
will be responsible for overseeing our Education for Service Scholars program and helping BVU realize our “Education for
Service” motto. The successful applicant will build relationships with the Education for Service Scholars and community partners. In
addition, they will serve Iowa Campus Compact (IACC) in developing a sustainable model for engaging First Generation students in the Iowa
College AmeriCorps Program. The individual will be based at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake with some travel to Des Moines and other
parts of the state required.
Qualified applicants must be highly motivated, personable, flexible, detail-focused, and adaptable to
changing environments, and possess excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills. Bachelor’s degree and valid
driver’s license are required (Master’s preferred) along with 3-5 years’ experience, which can include volunteer, intern,
and leadership roles. A one-bedroom apartment on campus is provided, but utilizing is optional. This 12-month position is supported by the
Iowa College AmeriCorps program pending grant approval. A background check will be conducted on the final candidate.
