Under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the position performs a variety of assigned and independent professional administrative, analysis, and programmatic duties assisting the Chief Financial Officer and division senior management. Coordination and implementation of a variety of Finance projects, programs, and divisional efforts is required. Work requires the exercise of discretion in performing daily activities based on a complete knowledge of administrative policies, procedures and operations. The salary range for this position is $20.34- $29.47 per hour with a hiring range of $20.34 – $24.90, depending on qualifications and experience. Position will close to applicants on: Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. M.S.T.

ESSENTIAL Job Functions:
Assist the CFO in implementing departmental goals, policies and procedures, monitor effectiveness, and make revisions and recommendations for improvements.
Prepare presentations for internal and public stakeholder meeting, including City Council, coordinate community and outreach surveys.
Provide front-line response to public and internal inquiries regarding department activities, programs, policies, procedures, and projects over the phone, in person and through written correspondence; or directs inquiries to the appropriate staff.
Assist CFO and Finance staff with the research and development of reports, special projects, and assignments including participation in on-going department projects.
Assist in development and improvement of databases, reporting, website, and monitoring systems.
Provide support for the department including schedule meetings, maintain files, and create meeting agendas and notes.
Develop, collaborate and maintain excellent working relationships with Finance staff, City Departments, business representatives, government officials and the public.
Participate in Finance Department’s Senior Management Team meetings, takes notes, and prepares agendas.
Coordinate and manage updates to City and Finance Strategic Plans.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Serve as the Department’s liaison to the City’s Safety Committee
Coordinate and manage Finance safety program, training and reporting; ensures all safety regulations are communicated and followed.
Submit recommendations for Safety and efficiency, as well as report defective equipment and unsafe conditions

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical and administrative experience required. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook. Demonstrated knowledge of office procedures including some accounting or bookkeeping and automated data entry. Experience in preparing presentations, meeting agendas and minutes is highly desirable. Prefer formal training or education in business, computers, and accounting principles.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in a typical office environment which requires sitting for extended periods of time, reaching, repetitive keyboard motion, occasional prolonged standing, frequent use of telephone, and communicating with employees, consultants, and citizens. Requires repetitive motion tasks, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and light lifting to perform the essential functions of the job.  Must be able to leave the area for meetings and delivery of information. Must be able to work well in fast-paced and/or high-pressure situations.
