California State University Los Angeles (Cal State LA) seeks a Dean of the College of Natural and Social
Sciences (NSS) to provide the overall vision, strategic direction, long-term planning, and operational oversight for the college, and to
pursue new opportunities to best serve students and the societal and business needs of the region. The new dean is expected to take office
in July of 2022.

College of Natural and Social Sciences is the largest college at Cal State LA, with over 150 outstanding and dedicated faculty–who have won
more Statewide Outstanding Professor Awards than faculty in any other academic unit in the California State University system. The college

Required qualifications include an earned terminal degree from an accredited university in the natural
sciences, social sciences, or a related field; an excellent record of teaching, scholarship, and service at the university-level with
accomplishments to warrant appointment at the rank of tenured full professor within an existing department of the college; and demonstrated
ability to create an inclusive and effective working environment among ethnically, racially, and culturally diverse faculty, staff and
