BCH Payroll Officer
You will be working as part of the BCH Payroll team to produce and administer the payrolls effectively and efficiently for Police Officers, Police Staff, Specials and Volunteers and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire Police. You will undertake payroll auditing, ensuring payments are being made accurately and in line with organisation policies and statutory regulations. You must have the ability to meet deadlines and achieve objectives under pressure.
You will provide guidance and support to staff and officers at all levels within the organisation as well as administration for the Police Pensions and Local Government Pension Schemes.
You will have two years payroll experience, preferably in a Police/Public Sector environment, proven current technical payroll, pensions and tax knowledge. The ability to work as part of a team is essential as is proven experience of using computerised payroll systems and spreadsheets along with fast, accurate keyboard skills and good analytical skills.
You will liaise with employees, colleagues and external customers and resolve any queries so well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Location: The post is based at Chord Park, Godmanchester but agile/hybrid working can be arranged.
