What is the purpose of our Hoarding Intervention and Treatment Program?
Roughly 5% of the population struggles with Hoarding Disorder, which is closely related to depression, OCD, ADHD and anxiety. As an outgrowth of our In-Home Support Services, our Hoarding Intervention and Treatment Program recognizes the unmet need of assistance for those facing Hoarding Disorder in the Milwaukee community. Through behavioral health therapy, case management, and home coaching, this program offers a holistic solution. Our goal is to improve the lives of individuals affected by Hoarding Disorder, so that they may live independently in clean, safe homes.
What will I do as a Hoarding Interventionalist?
The Hoarding Interventionalist position offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to assist those who struggle with Hoarding Disorder, on a one on one basis. As part of the Hoarding Intervention and Treatment Team, this position works in collaboration with the Case Manager and In-Home Therapist to develop individualized care plans for each client, in order to help them move forward, overcome obstacles and meet their goals.
The Interventionist’s primary responsibility is to work with the client in their home, assisting with the gradual de-cluttering work, as well as housekeeping, organizing belongings, and other support in line with the care plan. Ultimately, by providing quality, compassionate care, you will be working toward our goal of helping our clients live safe, happy, and independent lives.
What are the requirements?
An Associate’s degree in human services or related field is required; a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, or related field such as Human Development or Services, or Psychology is preferred. Up to 2 years of previous experience in social services, health care, or older adults is a plus.
As a Hoarding Interventionist you will travel 90% of the time to client’s residences in Milwaukee County, which requires a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and automobile insurance meeting the minimum liability coverage of $100,000/person and $300,000/accident.
