Role Overview:
The Vice President of Sales leads new business growth, driving revenue and gross margin, and works with leaders of Product, Operations, and Resource Teams to ensure a compelling and scalable value proposition for our customers and their constituents. The Vice President of Sales ensures that the products and services offered meet the current and emerging needs of our market and sustains the financial viability of the business. The VP of Sales consistently achieves an annual quota target in new business sales and thrives in an aggressively growing business.

Role Responsibilities:

• Actively builds influential relationships at the operating and senior management levels
• Leads new business sales efforts for named hospitals and health systems, public and private health plans, and geocentric health information networks.
• Operates as a liaison to identify new business in existing and potential new markets.
• Maintains an awareness and perspective regarding the level of success in meeting performance goals and exceeding client expectations
• Utilizes sales CRM Tool to document and report opportunities and activities; ensures all opportunities are updated and current as related to actively pursued accounts
• Comprehensive understanding of the features and benefits for all solutions, products, and services
• Generates leads/prospects and drive revenue in targeted markets including health plans, commercial providers, and large integrated delivery systems.
• Collaborates with SVP of Sales to develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan and strategy consistent with Secure Exchange Solutions overall strategic revenue goals and ensures appropriate focus and attention to those objectives and initiatives from a new business sales perspective
• In coordination with the Client Success team, monitors client contracts with the objective to renew and / or increase business through the expansion of current solutions or the introduction of new solutions
• Understands market dynamics (legislative changes, technology developments, competition) and their impact on hospitals, health systems, and health plans.
• Oversees the development and presentation of new business proposals and RFP responses
• Assists members of Secure Exchange Solutions Operations and client success teams to ensure the appropriate sales to operations hand-offs have occurred to ensure client goals are met and implementation of solutions are on time and on budget.
• Works with business & product development and service line leadership in developing sales approaches and pricing strategies for new and existing services & solutions
• Understands and agrees to role-specific information security access and responsibilities
• Ensures safety and confidentiality of data and systems by adhering to the organizations information security policies
• Reads, understands, and agrees to security policies and complete all annual security and compliance training

Role Requirements:

• Minimum of 7+ years’ experience and demonstrated success in selling and new business generation experience in the healthcare sector with a successful track record of quota attainment.
• Healthcare provider side market experience and deep understanding of clinical data exchange, healthcare interoperability programs, and general exchange in the healthcare industry
• Experience executing large, enterprise deals, and managing long-term client partnerships that include a variety of healthcare stakeholders, including national and regional organizations, at-risk providers, and other accountable care organizations
• Strong knowledge of health plan operations including provider contracting and negotiation processes
• Prior work experience with healthcare information technology and services companies such as EHRs, Value-Based Care Solutions and HIE’s
• Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales objectives and goals in a fast-paced, high-growth, and entrepreneurial environment
• Expert knowledge of competitive landscape and exceptional market insight
• Possesses professional maturity, strategic thought processes and skillful negotiation skills
• Advanced interpersonal skills (reading, writing, verbal communications)
• Ability to work, operate, and succeed under pressure, competing priorities, and deadlines
• Advanced reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Advanced skills in Salesforce CRM
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Excellent client management and relationship development skills
• Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university with appropriate course work; Master’s degree with appropriate course work, or relevant commensurate experience preferred
