Job Summary and Mission
Responsible for providing Employee Relations and HR Generalist expertise to support HR Manager with various HR functions and initiatives including, but not limited to, assistance with proactive planning, organizing, and implementing processes and programs in areas such as employee relations, performance management, orientation, recruitment, training, and miscellaneous projects. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
While 80% of this role is Employee Relations focused, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
– Facilitate timely resolution of employee relations issues while maintaining an appropriate balance between employee and management advocacy. Communicate employee concerns related to HR and employee relation activities to HR Manager.
– Provide advice and counsel to managers on various HR programs and policy interpretations.
– Identify and analyze key metric data such as headcount, turnover, etc., and make recommendations to HR Manager for corrective action.
– Conduct exit interviews, analyze feedback, and provide management summary results.
– Assist with benefit open enrolment and employee events as needed.
– Coordinate employee file maintenance with HR Manager and HR team to document personnel actions and provide timely information for payroll and other uses.
– Coordinate new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
– Assist HR Manager in facilitation and coaching for the management team in the areas of performance management and career planning. Support and implement new programs and training that drive CEVA culture.
– Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Degree or GED required
SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification and a four-year college degree in Business, Human Resources, or other related field preferred; or equivalent combination of work experience and education
Minimum 3-5 years tactical HR Generalist experience
Minimum 3-5 years Employee Relations experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
– Strong knowledge and solid experience in Employee Relations.
– Knowledgeable of company policies and procedures and federal and state employment laws
– Ability to partner with managers and employees in a trusting environment, demonstrate a high level of integrity, and establish effective working relationships
– Knowledgeable of HR practices and processes (benefits, compensation, payroll, recruiting, training, administration, time and attendance, etc.)
– Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
– Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds
– Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
– Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
– Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, and vendors
– Ability to manage multiple projects
– Exceptional attention to detail
– Exceptional proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
– Experienced in working with payroll, timekeeping, and HRIS systems
– HR administration in a distribution/warehousing environment preferred
– Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information
– Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision-making, presentation, and negotiation skills
– Ability to function from a facilitator mind set, ask questions, and listen effectively
