JOB DESCRIPTION- Human Resource Generalist

Summary
The Human Resources Generalist completes specialized administrative tasks for the Human Resources department and is responsible for processing the bi-weekly payroll. This position assists the Human Resources Manager with a range of daily functions including recruitment, onboarding, customer service, and upholding company policies and practices.

· Enters, maintains, and processes information in Paylocity, the Human Resources Information System; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, bonuses, or other compensation, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholdings, address changes, and other information.
· Ensures proper processing of bi-weekly payroll for a mix of exempt and non-exempt staff.
· Administer benefits program and ensure compliance with SPD; support employees with new hire enrollment and annual open enrollment.
· Recruits and conducts new hire orientation program.
· Participate in the employee onboarding program and process new employees in the payroll and benefit systems.
· Assists or performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
· Handles employment and payroll-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Processes employee and 3rdparty requests.
· Attends and participates in employee reviews, disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as necessary.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities but may serve as a coach and mentor to others.
Required Education and Experience
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. · At least 1 year of experience in Human Resources or payroll processing
· Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft office suite.
Preferred Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university in Human Resources or related field
· SHRM-CP or PHR certification
· Must be Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
